Re: Payton: Peterson not declining like most older RBs
I played in an Old Boys rugby game Saturday......over thirty vs. under thirty. Btw, the game was 60-61. I think we lost by one kick. The older athletes who stay in shape can play competitively well into their fifties and there are plenty of us that do. I'm fifty eight and played against the young guns for short periods of time and still did my thing well enough. That is the key with Old Boys.......stay in shape and don't over exert yourself.
Not too much action and plenty of rest can make an older rugby player look like a stud. AD is a physical specimen who could play rugby until he's sixty if he wanted. In limited action he's going to be a dynamic counter to Mark Ingram. Both players will benefit from this one two punch. Edit: Professional football players can't come to the side line and drink a beer so we have that motivation to keep playing. |
