I always felt and said MJ's best year with us was his final season. You could see he had started to put it together. That was why I was perplexed when we let him walk.

I was able to get confirmation today on NFL Live on ESPN. As I was pretty sure, a new contract always requires a physical exam. Whatever the Saints medical staff found during the pre OTA exam of Fairley, which all players go through, was not present during the exam back in March prior to the signing of his new contract. You cannot put this on the Saints front office at all. They did their due diligence, but fate stepped in.

Or maybe they knew but wanted to take care of him. I don't know but that is a short time frame for something to go from pass to fail for something he has been playing with for years.

They could have taken care of him without a contract and off the books. Teams have done stuff like that for years. Arrhythmia can appear suddenly.

Bingo! Hopefully the coaching changes will make a huge difference with the defense. I am expecting that outcome for certain.
