Payton Manning's father was Archie Manning.
Archie Manning is from Mississippi. Mississippi had slaves. Therefore a statue of Payton Manning is racist and must be taken down. |

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
- back to the thread.
I dont believe this... How do we know WHY Mora isnt coming to this? Maybe he has a prior engagement. FF is 100% right. If this team with Peyton & Brees had Mora's (and Bum's) Dome Patrol Defense, we would be the greatest team in NFL History. In a related note, if Aunt Ruth had balls, she'd be Uncle Bert. |

Mora, I'd agree to that.

Re: Second "Greatest" Coach in Saints History Still Bitter
Gotta disagree with y'all about matching "Mora's Defense" to Payton's Offense...
First Point: There are two names that really should be getting the credit for that defense - Jim Finks and Steve Sidwell, not Mora Second Point: Mora and Payton would have killed each other in the locker room fighting over strategy... Mora didn't trust throwing the ball alot, he prefered the Ground Chuck approach, eating clock... Payton believes in a full, no-holds-barred, aerial assault as if he were playing in Arena Football... Third Point: While there definitely would have been a pass rush, there's no way of knowing if the Saints secondary, particularly the cornerbacks could compete in today's no touch, no grab NFL rules; Toi Cook was often the weak link on that defense, particularly at the end of games (a familiar theme these past seasons since the Superbowl win)... Final Thought: There's one disturbing parallel though - as both coaches tenures became longer and they acquired more personnel authority, with fewer checks and balances, they made horrible personnel moves... Two bright spots for Payton - First, hiring Jeff Ireland to come in and get the Personnel Dept up to par with the offfensive success and though, slowly, painfully, give back some of that authority (trust) in personnel moves... Second, hiring Mike Nolan and Ryan Nielsen to support Dennis Allen looks to be a brilliant, fortunate move and may very well boost the back half of Payton's run as Saints Head Coach... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
