All you need to know:

Defense was carved up and offense was totally dominated.

As I stated in my earlier a.m. post, the joint practices with San Diego is a good thing. Lots of time for film study, review and corrective action.

More importantly, I don't think the media made any mention of a Saints player sustaining any injuries. This defense will get there.

A lot of rookies and young players in general starting on our D, study the film and make the next session better.

One video I noticed on Twitter and Nola.com, was Saints playing D playing zone, Gates got the catch near the sideline but Marcus Williams was there like a Bolt and knocked him flying. Give the guy a bit more film study and experience and he'll be picking those instead.

That is encouraging to hear. Marcus could be that "guy" in a year or two.

It wasn't all bad today. By all accounts Ryan Ramczyk held his own against Melvin Ingram and Marshon Lattimore had several nice PBU's.

Like I said earlier for me I m not putting much into this. I think, if I remember correctly, last year we scrimmaged the Pats and had a bunch of really good plays and then when it came time for the game we didn't look so hott. So I am on a wait and see. Always good to get some scrimmages in against another team and prepare for the preseason game Sunday. I am interested to see how we play then. I'd almost like us getting banged around a bit, maybbe it gets guys attention and they get a chip on their shoulder.

Eh, Chargers have something to prove. They want to come out strong and claim their shared stadium as their own. The team that comes out winning is the team people will associate the stadium with. Nobody outside of Jets fans perceived the old Medowlands the Jets Stadium. It was the Giants stadium and the Jets just used it.
They are just flexing their muscle for fans. Come game day the Saints will show them what's what.
