Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

I knew they were probably getting frustrated.

Who is looking to trade for a broke up cornerback? Maybe the JETS will bite.

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

If healthy, which sadly he hasn't been since his first year, he's better than Crawley and Harris. Not even close. With Lattimore currently out and with PJ's injury history, I just don't get it. If after the preseason they like what they have minus Breaux and the others are healthy, so be it. To trade or cut him now would be a mistake.

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

Yeah, not helping that Lattimore isn't ready. I don't blame Payton, this is getting ridiculous. I hope Breaux can get healthy.

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

I love Breaux and what he brings to the field when healthy, just seems so rare now. I would hope that this only happens if we get some good value, I would guess we are hunting for a solid DT.

Dude isn't worth a damn. I knew when KC was put on top of him on the depth chart there was a message being sent. He can't go two practices without breaking a nail

So, Saints are considering trading their best cover corner and I assume going with Ken Crawley? 7-9, here we come again...

You can't be the best from the sideline...

PJ Williams is our best cover corner, Breaux has not been our best cover corner in a while. He is consistently burnt at practice and in games last year

Breaux was our best cover corner before becoming injured

Or apparently coming back from injury because dude has not been that good (that I have seen) since the injury last season.

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

i am a fan of Breaux but he have to fight to stay on the field. He also need to check on his vision, within 20 yards it's almost impossible to beat him but those go routes are a killer cause he have a hard time locating the ball. In all I'll like for him to remain with the saints but he can't be a saint by the sideline

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

Anybody that can get on the field and play on regular basis is not only a better option at that position but also better for the defensive units chemistry.

ChrisXVI 08-14-2017 11:25 AM

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

Word is that there's kind of a mental block going on there. Ever since having a kid he's real apprehensive about playing injured and getting hurt... Which is understandable seeing as how he almost died on the field once.

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

Saints best cover corner is Lattimore. Yeah I said it and the guy haven't played a down in the league but I am calling how I see it.

P.J is our number 2 and Crawley is a number 2 in the waiting. I can see them starting Lattimore & P.J. but moving P.J. to the inside and Crawley on the outside in nickel

He just isn't the same since the injury.

Probably all good guesses here except the 7-9 part. Crawley might have beat him out fair and square. He has better hands and ball skills than Breaux.

Kennan couldn't stay healthy ...cut.
Byrd ... cut
China Doll Ellerbe ... cut

You can't help the team if you are consistently injured and/or hurt. Breaux hasn't been healthy in a while & it appears he is now on notice.

Que sera, sera.

Well if thats the case lets throw in Armstead too. He hasn't done jack since they extended his contract. He falls in the good if healthy but never healthy category with breaux too.

I think it's more so the side of the ball that has cost us games for some time. The D. I think if we did shop Armstead we would already have a taker, but who really wants a cb. off of our bottom dwelling D, especially one with an injury history.

Paytons going all out for his boy Allen I will give him that. They both should be on the hot seat if they fall on their face this season.

Re: Saints Trying to Trade Delvin Breaux

Initially diagnosed with a contusion, Breaux on Monday underwent X-rays that revealed a more serious injury, according to a source, though still not an ailment considered long-term in nature.

The source declined to say the exact injury with which Breaux is suffering, but the cornerback was seen at the team facility Monday afternoon in a walking boot and using crutches.

Sounds like he has a leg fracture.

Well when Payton said it was minor I took him at his word...

And these guys have access to the best medical care in the world. Don't tell me it's a misdiagnosis.

Guy is a injury waiting to happen, he is not tough.

I thought nothing could stop him after recovering from a broken neck, time's up.

Just did a little research. A bone bruise is actually a minor stress fracture. A slightly larger crack would be what we commonly know as a stress fracture. The edema, or swelling is basically the same with both and is all that an MRI can show. I also found out that a bone bruise can develop into a more pronounced stress fracture. A stress fracture, while slightly more severe than a bone bruise, it is still somewhat minor and no where near as serious as a bone fracture. I understand that it can be problematic telling the two apart until the swelling has subsided.

I love google.

Sounds like he has a leg fracture.

If he had a "leg" fracture or bone fracture he would be in a cast. A walking boot would indicate the less severe stress fracture. I had a stress fracture in my wrist and simply wore a removable splint which is the arm version of a walking boot, I suppose.

I'm becoming more afraid Breaux was a flash in the pan and that he could have been more than that if the injuries didn't set him back. I guess in the next season or two we'll find out for sure.
