this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; It's hard to imagine that even IF the Steelers didn't want him, we could have paid him what he was looking for... 7 million a year for an aptly injured player is a bit much......

Re: Joe Haden
We always do better with the low money signings, this one would have ended the same way the Byrd signing did.

Re: Joe Haden
Exactly. What we have is not only a solid future, it is a very viable present. Why throw money after an aging injured player again?

Re: Joe Haden
I would've like to have had him on the team but not for that price.

Re: Joe Haden
Glad he is going to the Steelers.
They are way over paying for him. He can still play but he is at that age where injuries start creeping in and losing a step as a CB is setting in. Here in Cleveland they wanted to keep him they wanted him to take a pay cut he can still play but they are setting up to win in 3 years and he won't be around for that and at that price the analitics don't equate for a 3rd string CB. I can see signing him for 1.8 but 3 year 27 mil is a huge gamble that we don't need to gamble with anymore of that crap. |
