AG,
We get it with Gronk. He's a beast, arguably the best in the NFL and has been for a while however that Saints defense has been a liability for years.

We gave up over 470 yards of offense to the Vikings in Week 1. Week 2, we gave up over 500 yards of offense to the Pats in the dome. Dennis Allen defense is giving up over 50% conversions on 3rd downs (that's the equivalent of 1 out of 9 drives), while allowing points on 2/3rds of possessions. That's flat out awful & unheard of. We still have Cam, Stafford & Rodgers who are good to elite quarterbacks.

I'm as optimistic as the next man but we have serious issues on defense & a very unkind schedule with QB's capable of embarrassing us (see Bradford and Brady), even Jay Cutler.

It wasn't just gronk that beat us from the TE spot, Rex Burkhead of all people made us look foolish too.

You're right. Gronk is special. But even if you take Gronk's numbers out, the Saints have still given up 661 yards in the air in two games. That would still be 31st in the league.

And we coulda taken OT L. Collins in the 7th to save that entire draft. What suckers all 32 teams were and there were plenty of regular guys with common sense who saw the bluff and would've called it.

No we couldn't have. He would have sat out.

Yeah, him and his agent was very clear about that. Seems some people missed that part.

No but I was going for hope :p. Looking at his play I see the saints once again getting caught asking a LB to cover too long with no pass rush. They have a long history of asking fast LB to do this.

Do not under estimate Burkhead. In the Pats offense he will make many more teams look foolish this year. The Bengals looked foolish for waiting so long to get him on the field. He got his shot due to injuries and made the most of it.

I wanted Rex in FA but we drafted Alvin Kamara and trade away this year 2nd round pick, I liked the talent in the 2018 draft too much and had to go with "In SP I trust" with the pick.

Burkhead was a great signing. though the money he got seemed a bit rich at the time. $1.8 million (+ $250,000 in per-game roster bonuses), which was a solid deal in hind sight.

2018: Free Agent we may get a second shot at him

Be happy he left the game after the first TD. Or it could have been worse
