Comfortably Numb
I approached this season cautiously optimistic. I saw marked improvement in
the talent level in the defense. Losing a DT and LT were not insurmountable A starting WR could be covered for a short suspension. Losing the second starting OT that was highly problematic. Back to back terrible performances by our defense that has a proven record of being historically BAD and I find myself being Comfortably NUMB. I have been facing some health problems and could really use some positive things in my life. I will continue as an ever suffering Saints Fan. Sean Payton will always have my thanks for making my beloved Saints respectable. Several Teams have never been Super bowl champs and he was a huge part of bringing this city that honor. However it seems obvious that he is incapable of making this defense respectable. Drew Brees is the undisputed best Saint ever. It is a pity that his final years are being wasted. I believe that the time has come to go in another direction. There is no guarantee that whomever replaces him will be better. There will take growing pains but to continue with the current system is to be in denial. |

Re: Comfortably Numb
Keep Brees, offer OC job to or drop Sean, keep Carmichael, make Nolan HC and focus on D? Seems a better option than totally dismantling the team.
