draft Ben Wilkerson?
Wasnt Ben projected to go in the first round last yr if he came out. Now i think he is supposed to be a late 2nd to 4th round pick. If we were able to get extra picks would he be a bad pick up and put Lecharles B back at guard?
Just an idea..what do yall think? |

with mayberry-that would definitly upgrade our interior line..but here\'s the question-would bentley\'s progress as a lineman be stifled?

Doubtful. I think Bentley would progress more quickly at guard than at center.

Bently did very well at guard..probowler. I dont hink it would slow his progress at all..just think
LT..Gandy LG. Bently.. not sure what side he played? C..Wilkerson RG. Mayberry RT. Brown or Barnes If the rooks could pick up the system well it could make a pretty good line for years..with eventual Gandy and Mayberry replacments in a year or two. |

I still think we should let the Stinch play RT and draft a LT. We\'ll need one sooner than most think, I fear.

Your right Stinch needs to step up. His development period has passed time to see some productivity.
Ive thought about this too. Trade howard and first rd pick to move up in front of texans (who most believe will take Alex Barron) and draft Barron and pick up an extra 2nd rd or whatever would be good compensation. Who ever picks around 8-12 (Arizona, wash, det. dallas, san diego) just a thought [Edited on 6/4/2005 by SaintSnide] |

I would love to get Wilkerson and move LeCharles back to guard. But then, what about Montrae? Depth? Well, that will be pretty good. Hell, if we got Wilkerson, I would be willing to experiment with Mayberry at RT and have LeCharles, Wilkerson and Montrae in the middle. But like Who sayd, I fear we will need a LT very soon.

Gandy is either 32 or 33, and he\'s contracted to 2009. No way he\'ll make it that far. A 37 year old starting LT? No way.
I\'d support Wilkerson, but it would depends on how far he falls, and whether the other needs would be filled. LB, SS, OT, QB. If you can\'t fill all of them (at the cost of getting Wilkerson), then I\'d pass on Wilkerson. Just seems more important to me that those need (all of them) get covered. |
