Salary wise, it makes no sense. Terron isn't getting traded in 2018. Even with the thought of reshuffling guys (Ramz/Peat) as you point out, you still have to get a 1st, even 2nd as a reliable starter. And there are no guarantees that player will be remotely close to the level of Armstead.

2019 would be more realistic with trade discussions on TA.

Personally I like Armstead, he come from a little known college in Arkansas and has been really, really good for us considering where we drafted him. The downside is he is not seeing nearly the playing time with injury. We already have 2 highly capable LT that could take care of the LT spot if he goes down but as far as any depth whatsoever at C/G there is nothing at all which is a huge problem ( hole really) so do we roll the dice on a often hurt player which would leave a hole in the line or do we trade him now with teams hurting for a LT and pick up an xtra pick to void that hole if Armstead goes down? I understand your point financially but we have no, nada, nothing as depth on the O line and (need) some. I do get skidish about rookies when remembering Charlie Brown but we have to roll the dice somewhere.
