Rocky Mountain was probably saying in so many words he isn't buying into the Saints hype. Nice couple of wins however this team could "trick" people into thinking they are actually any good. Example ...

I remember listening to a LSU fan on the radio call in right after MSU destroyed them in Starksville. He basically said ... "beating us is fools gold. You have a false sense of achievement because the Tigers aren't that good". Long story short, Miss State hasn't won a game since ... getting blown out in the last two weeks .

I thought this would be an obvious conclusion when I posted it.

I am wary though because some members here can act deliberately ignorant to the intentions of other members' posts as a way to try and draw them into an argument.

This apparently makes them feel superior to others.
There also seems to be an addiction to conflict that some have.

I was asking, using your term, what it was that you felt was false perception? I was hoping you would expound.

Re: Are we still on our way to a 7-9 season?

If we lose to Detroit, I think that's followed up with another loss to Green Bay, which makes us 2-4 and I think we're back to the drawing board and at best an 8-8 season.

So let's just say the Detroit game is paramount. We must find a way to win, and it won't be easy.

My prediction is that we will beat Detroit and then lose to Green Bay (although a very competitive game that keeps the momentum going). Then the next 6 are the easiest and I got us at 4-2 or 5-1. That's either 7-5 or 8-4.

Then the rough stretch of Atlanta twice and Tampa at home to go along with cupcake NY Jets. So we again have to find a way to split with Atlanta if we're going to make the playoffs. I think the Tampa game will be for that last wild card spot between the two teams.

Isn't a Pyrite a Buccaneer?

Re: Are we still on our way to a 7-9 season?

Looking at the schedule based on how things are unfolding in the first quarter of the NFL schedule, we definitely have the toughest schedule left:

Atlanta twice (3-1)
Tampa twice (2-1)
Carolina (3-1)
Detroit (3-1)
Green Bay (3-1)
Buffalo (3-1)
L.A. Rams (3-1)
Washington (2-2) almost beat arguably the best team in the NFL the Chiefs

"Easy" games
NY Jets (2-2) They have still managed to win 2 of their 4 games
Chicago (1-3) They beat Pittsburgh, on any given day.....

We're going to be in for a tough battle in 10 of our last 12 games.

Strength of schedule 30-16.

As long as our defense keeps playing like the last two weeks or better ; I don't see it!

Yes, being over .500 for the first time since like forever would be good.

Not so fast. That Bills - Skins - Rams stretch is looking to be murderous. Those teams are playing well, and 2 of those are on the road.
