My trip to London for the game
Hey everyone, just wanted to share some pictures and thoughts about the Saints, right after our trip to London.
Firstly, I've attached a picture from Regent street when Lance Moore was talking to the crowd. He got a great reception and I heard countless people mention how funny he was after he had finished his interview. I even got a thumbs up from Thomas Morstead, I was stood waiting to hear Lance talk and some security guys brushed past me leading Morstead and his daughter behind the stage. I shouted to him and he turned around a gave a thumbs up to myself and my fiancé. Pretty cool moment. I don't live in London, I'm glad I'm from North East England as I wouldn't be able to deal with so much traffic and crowds every day. London still seems foreign to me and I've lived in England all my life - 26 years. On to the game; Defense, defense, defense. I certainly believe that Crawley shifted the momentum to our side, the Dolphins first drive we were a step late on every play. After Crawleys pick, they never made it past our 40 yard line for the rest of the game. Lattimore is the real deal, De'vante Parker got annoyed with how physical Marshon was mid game and tried to start a fight with him. In my eyes, Lattimore looks like the best man to man cover corner we've had in years. Doesn't hurt either that Crawley has matured and has played outstanding for 2 consecutive weeks. Dennis Allen has made some good adjustments, playing more 3 safety sets is the key to our defense. Kenny is not a cover 2 guy, let Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams take that responsibility and let Vaccaro stay 5-10 yards off the line of scrimmage. Unger had some problems snapping, I don't know what it was but Drew had to go low for a large amount of snaps and then had the one that went sailing over his head. Walking down the london streets, people brushed past me saying things like "Brees sucks" or "Phins up." One guy every 5 minutes shouted Brees sucks at the game, until Brees threw that beautiful back shoulder ball to Ted Ginn, at which point that same guy headed for the tunnel under a cascade of "WHO DAT" chants. I met some really nice Americans at a well known English Bar called the "Slug and Lettuce," we talked for a while as I told them how I'd been over to New Orleans and it was nice to see them doing the same in London. The win wasn't pretty, but it was hard fought and we deserved it. Let me know any of your thoughts or if you travelled to the game? |
