Tagging players
Is any of the free agents to be worth tagging him? Maybe Carney? Are they trying to work out a deal with him? I sure would like to see him back and looking at the salaries of kickers it shouldn't be a big problem if they want to retain him.
Did the Saints tag any players last season? If so, what kind of tag did they use? |

Tagging players
I\'d have to dig to see if we tagged anyone last year, but the big problem with using any tags is you guarantee to pay a player with the average of the top 5 players salary-wise at that position for a Franchise player, and the average of the top 10 salaries if the Transition tag is used. To tag someone like Clemons we then guarantee to make him at least one of the top five linebackers as far as salary goes in the whole NFL. Is he one of the 5 best LBers? Not at all.
