Can someone help me out as to why the Titans would go QB (Rodgers) in the 1st? Would most not agree that Volek is one of the best #2 Qbs in the league and the succesor to McNair?

Yeah I thought I said the same thing last week or so. I think Volek is their QB of the future(or at least the next few years).

I like Marlin Jackson slipping to the 2nd tho. I wouldnt mind spending #40 on him if he was still there

I wouldn\'t necessarily agree that the Titans have made up their mind and see Volek as McNair\'s successor. If Smith or Rodgers falls to them, they will think long and hard about taking a QB. They will probably also get trade offers.
Smith and Rodgers will both be taken inside the Top 6. The Saints could choose from Rodgers, Travis Johnson and Jamaal Brown. I wouldn\'t be too unhappy if it played out that way. |

i wondered the same thing about Tn until i checked that volek is 29, so not their long term future. still i do not see it. if they lose dyson that means both cornerbacks gone. rolle would be high impact and immediate help. edwards and m. williams might be the highest impact/best sure things on the entire board. losing the league\'s receiving leader and getting mike williams former oc makes it hard to see them passing on them if on the board either.

I\'d rather the Saints take Travis Johnson than Rogers. We need a run stopping tackle.......BAD......REAL BAD!!

I guess at 29, Volek is a bit older than you would think. But....they just cleaned house in a big way and he could at least handle the duties for a year or 2 while they retool.
It seems that they have bigger issues than a position they\'re 2 deep at for 2005 and conceivably they could count on Volek for \'06. Beyond that.....who knows. |
