Drew Brees isn't going anywhere, and Saints finally have hope for future

Drew wants to win and if the franchise didn't make the necessary moves then Drew could leave and go to a contender with his current contract. We are a more complete team with a chance to get to the playoffs again. I think he stays and retires a Saint which is what he really wants.

No. He wants to win, but he wants to remain a Saint more. And the Saints have just as good a chance of winning it all this year and into the future as any team. As he has repeated over and over again, he will definitely play several more years and they will all be with the Saints. What is a contender anyway? Nobody knows what real chance any team has going into a season. All kinds of things could happen. Leaving a team with whom you already have chemistry to go elsewhere makes zero sense if the only reason is wanting to win.
