They have their guy, we have ours. Both make every player on the field better. Both have turned has-beens into stars.
With a better defense, Brees' numbers would be much lower, and maybe the rings would be doubled. I've also felt Brees was more stat-driven. I know Payton ultimately decides who is on the field, but I look at some of the blowouts when Brees was still in. Two I remember are when we were beating the Colts by 50, and the Sun/Mon night game when we were killing Atl, but Brees was still out there throwing. |
