this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I see Ingram staying. He's one of those rare players that seems to care more about the team than anything else....

Trade MIA for a rd 3 pick. Someone would bite at that price.

Re: Ingram is 1,395 yards away
I like Ingram and think he has been solid, but he wasn’t worth a first round pick particularly because we traded up to get him. His first 2 years he was bad, but when he cut weight and got faster I’d say he is a top 10 back in the league.

With our lousy draft history from those days, any player still around and making major contributions to our victories is definitely worth one of those first round picks.

Totally agree. His injuries early in his career irked me but i love the guy. Love how he gets when he’s challenged or after he fumbles. Except the other week. I like him more than PT. Kamara is a compliment not a replacement.

Re: Ingram is 1,395 yards away
A lot of people forget that MI has always shared a large portion of snaps with another back. If he gets traded to a team where he's taking 90% of snaps, he's going to have a big year. You can argue that he might get injured, but you can't argue that giving that man that many snaps isn't going to make him one of the NFLs leading rushers.

I'm just glad Trent Richardson wasn't eligible for the 2011 draft. |

DEUCE IS HORRID ON THE RADIO. Love the guy and he’s ok for sports talk but along side Henderson he is embarrassing. Little enthusiasm even less personality and just doesn’t flow. Sometimes I can almost hear Jim’s eyes rolling. He totally misses Jim’s jokes and has no banter. As far as Ingram and his yardage is concerned injury early in his career hurt his stats. He really turned it on the second half of the year several years back when we looked like we may make a playoff run and has been solid ever since. Additionally since 2011 Payton all but abandoned the run game because our defenses have been so damn bad it all rested on Brees shoulders. Our offensive line hadn’t been blocking for the run all that good either. As someone else said it takes two backs in most systems these days he’s always had to share carries with someone else. Deuce was our main guy. I also like the insurance of a good back for when someone goes down with injury. I love his attitude and the way he runs. I agree there probably isn’t a much better option as far as fair compensation. Anyway I agree with the rest of your post. Absolutely hated AB though. Even when we were decent and he played well I hated his attitude and whole personality. I hope we keep running the ball successfully enough for him to play out his career here. Our defense goes back to bottom of the pack and he can forget it. |
