this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Brees had to call 2 timeouts because the refs wouldn't allow him to snap it so Carolina could substitute. Not sure what was up with all that but it was pretty infuriating....

If this is the case I can’t see why any defense wouldn’t take their own sweet time to get out there in order to burn the play clock. |

The problem was the plays were coming in too late. We were still in the huddle with 10 seconds on the play clock and the defense gets the opportunity to substitute if the offense does. These 2 wasted time outs were on Payton not getting the plays in quick enough![]()
