The problem with DTs is that sacks/TFL/tackles stats don't tell the story about their job. I would like for him to be a 10 sack guy, but it doesn't appear that he's wired that way. He's been a fraction of a sec late on numerous sacks this year, so at least he's applying consistent pressure...that only helps the secondary, who has seen a revival this year.
He's a quality DT, my point is should we have spent the No. 12 pick on a guy that we could have gotten the same production from another player in the third, fourth, fifth round???

In all fairness, the 1st round of that draft was largely garbage from about pick #10 (Eli Apple) and on. I wanted Shaq Lawson and he’s been even more disappointing than Rankins (from a splash play standpoint... I’m not actually disappointed in Rankins.)

If Nick Fairley was playing he would be considered better. He's having a good season as far as I can tell with my untrained eye.

Yeah I don't get the hate honestly. People like to say he's no Aaron Donald, but look at the D-line that dude has been blessed to play with so far. I'm not saying Sheldon is on Aaron's level, but it's really not fair to compare the two when one clearly has an overall advantage. I think back to La'Roi Glover, and for as great as he was, he didn't become truly dominant until big Norman Hand was brought in to play alongside him. I want to see Sheldon get the same chance.

I haven't seen him do much, but I read an article that said he has a good year despite the numbers.

Sadly much of our local press throws softballs so they can be "allowed" to continue their profession and cover the Saints...

As much an @sshole he was, Ron Svoboda was the last guy to really call out a Saints Head Coach or anyone for that matter...

Ed Daniels is not as confrontational, but doesn't sugar-coat it the way other NoLa journalist do...

Jeff Duncan used to really take the criticism all the way to the top (Benson) but even he's chilled lately...

We could've done a lot more with that pick; maybe moving Rankins to end will allow him to get the production to justify the pick...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
