They beat us in our first ever play off appearance ('87) at home. Again in the metro dome after our first ever playoff win ('00) but we beat them at home ('09) for the conferences championship...
2 of my 3 top most heartbreaking losses and my second favorite win in franchise history. The Vikings too, have their claim to underdog destiny so don't think they won't be fighting - and the metro dome (if they still call it that) will be rocking - they are like 9 time losers at this and their 12th man will be up for the task. |

The second playoff game we played vs the Vikes, I remember Moss was unstoppable. He took a WR screen the distance and it looked like everyone but him was dragging a spare tire around. We've had some crucial meetings for sure. Round 4. Here we go. WhoDat!

Same thing in 2000 - we had just beat the "Greatest Show on Turf twice in a row... but Moss, could fly and proved he was the real "greatest show on turf." Major let down - but still we (at least I was stoked we had actually WON a play off game - like a huge monkey was off our backs. In '09 we were a 12 men on the field penalty away from loosing that game. And who could blame Farve, if his last throw of his storied career was an interception. In the post game interview the guy looked like Max Schmeling after Joe Lewis in '36. |
