Saints at Vikings Divisional Game Day Thread

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; You don't avoid PI by ducking your head and shoulder tackling. Great teaching tape to show exactly why you keep your head up and drive through the ball. Grrrr.........

I agree, he should of just wrapped him up but if he was afraid of a targeting that call doesn't give them a game winning TD and they wouldn't of been in FG range with only 15 yards. Obviously the smart play was wrap up and drive him backwards. That ends the game.

I think he was trying to avoid hitting him.

Re: Saints at Vikings Divisional Game Day Thread

This game and season ended just like the past several seasons played out. Though Brees looked bad in the first half his second half performance was typical Drew. His arm essentially won the game until one big mistake by the D ended it.

The difference is the Saints have a young core and an improving D. Unfortunately, another chance for Drew to bring home a ring is gone, and he doesn’t have many left.

I'm proud as as can be of this team. After the second game of the season it sure looked like we would struggle to win 3 games all year and that defense looked like it was going to break it's own record of defensive futility. But low and behold our youngsters started playing like vets, minus the last play tonight, and the injuries, oh my the injuries. It seemed every time we lost someone the next man up came in and produced. Unfortunately the injuries and the youth finally caught up with us. This team played it's hearts out dammit and I for one am one proud Saints fan tonight. I'm not upset over this loss. Heartbroken? Yes. But not upset. I don't blame Williams, he's young and made a rookie mistake. If he were a veteran then yes I would be ready to run him out of town. I didn't think we had a chance against this defense down 17 but by golly this team showed heart and perseverance and darned near pulled it out. So proud of this team and what they will bring to the table next year. WHO DAAAAAATTTT!!!!!

What goes around comes around!

I love the way Sean calls a time out when he's got a game wrapped up with one play left... and loses. He has no grasp of the concept "time out".

that was a good timeout call, it allowed our defense to rest. good timeout call, cant take them with you. How the **** does that have anything, i mean anything to do with the outcome.

Actually SP called the TO after the first down play. Maybe he should of waited till the last play to call one to make sure everyone on the defense knew what they were doing.

I know that this is a team game but I am putting this loss on one player. Everyone was in a position to stop the play, one player had an opportunity and blew it. Not only did he completely miss, he actually tackled Crawley who may have had an opportunity to tackle. I don't believe the time out called was a problem.
