I don't know why people aren't talking about Payton not running for the first down on 3rd and 1 on the go ahead drive, and trying to run the clock all the way down before kicking the field goal. When I saw that he had made that decision to just position the ball and leave time on the clock, I figured I'd get on here and see people going berserk about that, as well as Williams' play. I don't think I've seen one mention of it, though.

He did run the ball on 3rd and 1, Minnesota was offside, off course they didn't call it. After the run, Minnesota used a timeout. If we would've got the penality or the 1st. I am sure Payton would've ran down the clock

I didn't watch the game (again), but I was listening to a guy on national radio (Dave Smith) who said they had Kamara just kind of run to a spot to put the ball where the kicker wanted it, instead of trying to get the first down.

Did that not happen? If not, then the the radio guy lied through his teeth, or was remembering the wrong play. He even had a guest who came on and agreed with him, I believe. I'm rather confused now.
