Don't forget the $12.46M in 2018 roster bonuses are still in play. They can easily be converted to signing bonuses (team option, player has no input) and amortized over remaining contract years. This can make an additional $9M to $10M available immediately. Loomis loves writing roster bonuses into his contracts for this very purpose.

True. My question is how much dead money are we piling onto the books in two years when we have to to extend Peat, @CantGuardMike?

I get this is the year and making moves, but I'd rather have more players than a 31yo DT on his own self-proclaimed World Tour...

I wouldn't mind adding one of Decker, Maclin, or Hurns.

I think Decker and Maclin are probably both pretty close to washed up. I'd rather take a chance on Hurns. Give him one of those 1 year prove it deals that are all the rage lately. If it works out, we've got the opportunity to extend him. If it doesn't, we can walk away with minimal loss.
