Will New Orleans Saints bet nearly $3 million on Willie Snead? - NFL Nation- ESPN

...Most importantly, Snead proved to be a fantastic possession receiver, leading the Saints with exactly 25 catches on third downs in both 2015 and 2016. Last season, Snead had only four catches on third downs while the Saints plummeted to a shocking 19th in the NFL in third-down efficiency (37.6 percent).

The Saints, who have routinely led the NFL in third-down percentage over the past decade with coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees, must find a way to improve in that area. We’ll find out soon if they expect Snead to be part of the solution...

USA Today poses three possible DT additions for the Saints:

DT1 Johnathan Hankins - This should seem like the ideal signing to replace Fairley, but why aren't the Saints buckeyes endorsing him?
DT1 Bennie Logan - Not sure the Chefs had the right ingredients in KC adding a 4-3 DT to a 3-4 front, he'd be interesting..
DT3/5 Karl Klug - Klug is more of a set the edge DE in a 3-4, but I liked the idea of signing him to spell Cam till we signed Rogers...

Yeah, the article was right to point out that Logan didn't make the adjustment to KC's 3-4 front, not sure what the Chefs were thinking...

And with Hankins being from Ohio State, really surprised Big Hank hasn't been brought in yet - perhaps he's got Big Mo syndrome? Sat on his a$$ in Indy?

USA Today poses three DE possible additions for the Saints:

DE Junior Galette - this is not the crazy relative you want to reunite with USA Today, can you actually name 20 Saints players without notes, googling?
DE Kony Ealy - always an intriguing candidate, but if New England can't make it work, you gotta wonder what is it this kid can't make it work?
DE Willie Young - old guy backup is already signed in Rogers, besides Rankins is DE; this is a cap gobbler - keep his number for when Okafor goes down...
