So Brees moves on

Who do you want?
Address it in the draft?
Kirk Cousins
Case Kennum
Nick Foles

All will sign somewhere this offseason. We are in a win now position so I hate to roll the dice with a rookie.
Brees will stay. He’s said as much but just what if?
I like Cousins and Case looked good all season and won’t command much money.
I wouldn’t mind signing Foles as a Backup to see what Payton could do with him. Maybe sit him to study for a year or so and take the reins when Brees finally goes.
Brees said he wants to play to 40 he was 39 yesterday. I wonder if he plans to play past 40 or has plans.

Re: So Brees moves on

If it does happen, I think Kirk Cousins would be superb in our offense. Brees is a once in a lifetime player, but I like that Cousins has some wheels and will run if he needs to. Whereas Brees absolutely refuses to run it seems.

I’m gonna owe Guido $20.

I would totally take Cousins. He's a great QB and a great person off the field. He had a stellar season despite have no offensive weapons. Crowder and Pryor are drop artist and his RB went down. He still did well. Give him our talent and we are good for years. I doubt Brees is leaving but the float on deep balls is there. Hitting targets deep in stride just not there anymore.

That’s why my pick would be Foles. Cousins will get a long term contract and will start with someone next year. He’s not going to pass on that opportunity just to sit behind Brees for a year or two. Same could also be said for Keenum although he has stated he models his game based on Drew. He may sit just for the opportunity to learn.
Foles would probably be willing to sit and could benifit from it. I think he would flourish under Payton.
Is there anyone in the draft worth taking? We will be later in the draft and must use the pick wisely.
Again. Brees is our guy and can get another ring but it’s gotta happen soon

Re: So Brees moves on

I do not like Cousins, I would resign Chase Daniel and let him and Hill battle it out. If expectations are not met, then address in the 2019 draft. Also need to remember that the Saints would also have 18 million in dead money on the books for the QB position in 2018.

Re: So Brees moves on

I'm pulling for Hill. I don't think I have ever heard of a QB playing on ST's before and can only imagine what putting that type of athlete behind center could bring. Payton thinks he may be the QB of the future and that is good enough for me.

My choice is Drew Brees. I'll take him over any of them in a minute.

Brees will be back. I have no doubt about it.
But and IF he wouldn't I'd take Cousins in a heartbeat. He was great at Michigan State, fantastic leader. He is the best Qb the Redskins has had since forever (not saying much, I know) and they'd be stupid not to give him a 5 year deal.

Brees is going no where.

That second half was brilliant by #9 against a stout Vikes D. This off season we'll add a serious red zone target (TE), true #2 WR & one more big ugly (o line) ....

Championship. This team is only a few players away from getting back to where we want to be.

I agree, if all goes well this offseason I think we WILL go to the Super Bowl next year.

We nearly did it this season and not many people gave us a chance.

Yes. We are on the precipice of another Super Bowl run. The difference is that we now understand the talent we have going in can handle the task.

Why not win it again in the 300th year of New Orleans ... the 2018 season?

Can Hill throw the ball well enough to ever start anywhere?

And no I don’t think Brees is going anywhere. We will get him a Te and WR that are top tier.

Miles brennon from LSU. He will be a sophomore this next year which works out perfectly. Brees is not going anywhere for the next 3 years.

When’s the last time LSU had even a decent Qb.

Drew has stated several times that he wants one year deals for the remainder of his career with the Saints. That gives both him and the Saints to re-evaluate each season.

The tired idea that a QB is going to sit and learn is for the most part bullsh** and certainly doesn't apply here. Who has Brees mentored that went on to do anything at all? Other than Brady, who has?
As for Kennum, he's a game away from the Super Bowl; he is not sitting next year. Foles is 29, so in that ^^scenario would start when he was 31.

I wouldnt mind Cousins and Brees but it would probably be too costly given Cousins is a starter on 90% of the teams in the NFL right now. it only happens if Brees moves on.

I too heard Drew state many times he wants 1 year contracts. Does anyone know how this factors in with the 18 million cap hit for 2018? Sounds like a multi year contract is needed just to adjust that out, I am seriously not sure?
