From Cowboys blog: Howard trade heating up?

I just don\'t see Kaliff Barnes, Jammal Brown or any other player you can pick at #20 worth DH (a proven above average player) & a 3rd.

OK I know this crap is all just opinion, but just think about this for a second. Darren Howard right now is a backup. OK, just let that sink in.

Next, 95% of the time, a player drafted in the third round will never be as good as a player drafted in the first round.

Also, the majority of the star players in the NFL were former first round picks. First rounders are just usually going to be better players than third rounders. Now if we draft Barnes or Brown they have a very good chance of become starters at least, and Pro-Bowl type players at best. In comparison to having the chance to draft a STUD, it just doesn\'t make sense to throw that option away to keep a pick that will most likely be used to draft a guy who will probably be a permanent backup.
