Fantastic! He has done a great job bringing in better scouts and reigning in Payton's wild tendencies on draft day. I hope he is happy here doing what he does best. Ireland may not be the best GM but he has an eye for talent and we need to keep him. I give him more credit than anyone for turning this franchise around.

Re: Nobody Poaching Our Coaching...Yet

It's waaaaay early to think we'll escape this offseason intact coach and administration wise (psst, season is not even over yet!).
I get that Ireland had an ...um, colorful GM experience in Miami but his work with our scouting dept and with our drafts since he's been here I'd be shocked if he doesn't get another chance at GM somewhere. I just hope we can squeeze another draft or two out of him first.
Frankly, I'd really love to bring back all of our defensive coaches from this year especially Allen and Nolan.

Re: Nobody Poaching Our Coaching...Yet

I dont think we have much to worry about defensively this season to be quite honest. Our season, by most, is being considered an anomaly. Who did we lose after the 2013 season? Was Rob Ryan snatched out from under us.. Regrettably no

A few reasons:
1. No one can put a finger on which coach to give credit for the huge turn around. Because there isn't one.

2. Most of the credit for our huge turn around belongs to the draft and players, most notably the rookie players.

3. When Lattimore was out and injured our defensive play was not worthy of a discussion on poaching a coach.

4. THEN.. There was the final play of e season, where our CBs should have been 5-7 yards deeper. That's a failure on the coaching staff or at least one of them.

If we can manage more than 1 good defensive season in a row, then we might have something to worry about.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. ~ Henry David Thoreau

Re: Nobody Poaching Our Coaching...Yet

I think we snagged the assistants and such last off season because they were not happy in their current situation and or wanted back in NO for a specific purpose such as more happiness than in NO. Some were retired and came back just to be in NO.

So I find it hard to believe someone that $$$ and position with another team is going to make them happy. They tried that and came back... finding out the grass isn't always greener perhaps.

Someone just wanted to hang out with SP I presume.
