Butler was not benched, he played Special Teams in the first half. I find it difficult to believe that Belichick benching someone doesn't mean exactly that. Fully benched.

No. He played one snap from what they were saying on NFL Radio. And, you don't healthy scratch AND still be on the active roster. That makes no sense.

Please pardon my misuse of terminology, 'healthy scratch' as in he wasn't hurt but wasn't allowed to play defense.

I watched the game, read a few articles, and listened to a 1/2 hour discussion on NFLSirius about it this morning.. he played special teams.

He also cried during the National Anthem, I figured he didnt play because it was something personal and his head wasn't right.

With the diligence of the media I am sure we will eventually find out the whole story, no matter how personal or invasive it may be. That is why I left the media field many years ago. I cared too much.
