The number of success stories in this category is very small and I don't see Manziel anywhere close to being exceptional. Good luck to him though....his presence will definitely help the CFL get exposure south of the border.
I'll probably catch a few more CFL games because he is there. Maybe looking for a train wreck. I used to be a HUGE CFL fan back in the day. I was Admiral of the Pirate Armada, the fan club for the Shreveport Pirates CFL team back in the '90's. Pretty cool getting to rub shoulders with the head coach and Hall of Famer, Forrest Gregg. And Billy Joe Tolliver (ex-Saints great ) was the starting QB one year. But the coolest of them all was the place kicker, Bjorn Nittmo. He came to every one of our meetings. He kicked for the NY Giants and appeared on the David Letterman show multiple times because Letterman love saying his name ... Nittmo.
