Stats don’t lie brother, 4.5 sacks and 43 tackles. His lowest output of his career. He might be disruptive but for 10+ million we need more than disruption.

Stats also don’t tell the whole story. Did Rankins out uo gaudy stats last season? No. But I’ll bet Cam will tell you Sheldon is a major reason for his success.

If he was as much trouble as some claim dan campbell and bushrod would of said steer from him. Also we have been missing the interior rush last year he brings that and the ability to take on double teams that free up other guys. |

Its very hard to evaluate a DTs worth based on numbers alone, since it depends so much on the defensive scheme and what that player is asked to do within that scheme. Arguably some of the best 4-3 DTs of the past couple of decades may not have had the numbers stats-wise when it comes to tackles and sacks, but their performances have allowed other players on that defensive front to make plays that have elevated the respective worth of those players around them. I haven't really seen enough of footage of Suh playing since he left NFC North, so I don't how well Miami used him in their schemes, and if that has something to do with his stat numbers. I'm just tired of DTs that were supposedly difference makers, i.e. Jenkins, Ellis, Rogers, Franklin, etc., who ended up being just rotational guys at best or throwing away the potential of some of the players who have moved on from the roster like Johnson and Hicks. The decision shouldn't be between Okafor or Suh - or a DE and a DT - since those positions compliment each other. I would bet that the Saints would be more than fine with Hendrickson on the other side of the line if someone like Suh would line-up next to him. Also, Okafor leaving Tampa without a contract might suggest that he hasn't fully recovered from the injury, which to my knowledge is not the easiest type to comeback from anyways. Bottom line, if the F/O thinks Suh is the answer at that position, and they can make the financial side make sense - I'm all for it and actually welcome the bold move to improve the perennial weak spot of the defensive front. |

Consider this... You can't double team 2 great DL and Cam Jordan much less the 4th DE. This would be a complete game changer for the total defense like you cannot imagine. This would
SCREW THE MONEY. WE NEED TO WIN ANOTHER SUPERBOWL! ![]() After watching Drew Brees play for years while our defense was total crap, I can't believe any of you people are worried about this. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Ndamukong Suh Thread (MERGED)
Of course it’s not our money but it is limited money. It’s not like the Saints can act like the Yankees and buy whomever they want. There is a cap and unlike in baseball, the NFL has to obey it. I’m not saying Suh is trash. I’m saying he’s no longer worth the money he demands.
