AB needs to get Bledsoe on the phone and figure out how to handle his transition with a little class. |

Who is shocked that Billy is in here already posting the negatives about McPherson?? Kind of Pessimistic. Hey Billy, did you post negative remarks about any of our other draft picks, or just this one? That agenda is showing....
Of course, agenda or not, Billy is probably right. There is a reason this guy fell to the 5th round. We\'ll have to see. He seems like a more athletic Aaron Brooks to me. I mean, how stupid do you have to be to be the one guy kicked off of the team at FSU???? Wow. That said, I did see an interview with him a few weeks back and he seems to have matured. He seemed more humble and said he just wanted a shot. Well, looks like he\'ll get it. I sincerely hope that he pans out. I think that this kid has the tools to be a very good NFL QB - better than Brooks. What we\'ll have to see is if he has the smarts and the attitude that AB does not. I\'ll say this - if the Saints are out of the gate slow again and McPherson seems to be picking things up quickly, I would not be surprised to seem him play the second half of some week 7 game when we\'re being routed and never give the position up again.... We\'ll see. |

Adrian McPherson likes to give back to his community so he volunteers with juvenile programs, because Adrian believes everyone should get a second chance to make things right. He\'s the New Orleans Saints answer to Michael Vick... without the Herpes. And he volunteers with the United Way. |

To start...i would like to say YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This hasn\'t made up for the DJ situation, but I am all for this pick! It\'s funny what a difference a day can make. This is to Gumbo though.... Dude....I know you like AB. It\'s been well documented. However, all of a sudden you see that many of us are much more optimistic about the upcoming season. Wasn\'t it you that said that we needed to be more optimistic? Now we have A-MAC and we are! But here you come trying to be the proverbial wet blanket. I can\'t understand that for the life of me! You should be prepared for the fact that it\'s obvious that the coaching staff(and fans) are wearing thin of AB\'s antics and may feel that if things don\'t shape up, that it\'s time for a change. AB\'s still the number one guy, and will be if he is the man that you say he is, so don\'t sweat it so much. We just have a little back up now. Just some younger, smarter, stronger, more athletic and highly regarded back up. |

Who is going to be AMac role model? AB? LOLOLOLOL
If this was a year where AB had to negotiate at new contract, maybe. I hope AMac does not learn from AB, or this will be a bust in the biggest way. The smiling AB on the sidelines could turn to frowns big time if AMac get his chance. Character issues aside, this kid has a strong arm and quick read and feet. Enough said. What in the world was the FO thinking on our 2nd pick. Someone fell asleep at the wheel. lolololololololol |

he is a definite project but with legitimate upside. espn went on about him more than any other saint pick. i feared they might have taken him in the 3rd rd. this is a great risk/reward investment. that is my prob with bullocks, fincher, and lyman is that they could have been taken a round or two later (like mcpherson as a value here).
i am cracking up that billy immediately praises fincher saying there is as much negative comment about derrick johnson as him but when a qb is selected straight away the guy\'s negatives are pointed out. |

Looking around at the reports, I kind of agree with Billy on DJ. Brown is a safer, stronger pick.
I think we\'ll move Howard for a vetran LB or DT - that is better than picks anyway. I see what your saying though; Billy, there are lots of negative things said about all our other picks, why harp on MacPherson? |

You guys crack me up. Such a jolly group of AB Bashers. And that\'s the reason I posted the \"negatives\" on the guy.
Some of you guys are sooooooooooo ... what\'s the word I\'m looking for. Hypicritical? Yeah, that\'s the one. You guys go around preaching how important \"character\" and \"leadership\" is but I haven\'t heard either one of those mentioned in this thread. Or mentioned about anyone in the entire draft. McPhearson is the only guy we drafted that got arreseted. And he got arrested for STEALING!! Hell of a character guy. Albert Conell anyone? And IF McPhearson goes on to get in trouble in New Orleans, the same old \"crowd\" will be saying how dumb Haslett and Loomis were for drafting that bum. Some of you guys abosolutely confuse the hell out of me. With all the \"character\" and \"leadership\" threads I\'ve had to read through on this board ... All of that is now suddenly not important. How \'bout y\'alls favorite word ... CANCER? Please .. post what you want to. Just don\'t expect me to buy that ya\'ll are concerned about \"leadership\" or \"character\". I never bought it to begin with. But I\'m sure of it now. |

I personally think he has officially paid for his mistakes. He was a 1st/2nd round talent that slipped to the 5th. Thats a lot to pay for his childish stupid behavior 4 years ago.
If he\'s still an Albert Connel we can cut him and it won\'t hurt us one bit. But if he has truly learned, then we just got a guy who MAY become a combination of Vick/Culpepper/McNabb. At any rate it will put some pressure on AB, which has been shown to work the 4 freaking times its been tried. |
