Familiarity with Benjamin Watson doesn't hurt, but Saints signed him more for his ability

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Some people want to trade Ingram....I want to extend his contract. He is a locker room leader and a really good guy. His running style fits this offense beautifully and mixes well with Kamara. Ingram doesn't go down easily but ...

Ingram doesn't go down easily but there was no getting away from that dog.....he was on the ground with very little energy. The dog simply spun him around and Ingram's inertia carried him forward and down. Good fun was had by all! Dilly Dilly!

I agree. I just don't see the logic in wanting to trade Ingram. His versatility meshes well with that of Kamara. The defense cannot determine the offense based upon which of them are on the field. There is no guarantee a replacement could be found with the same repertoire. He also appears to be getting better and better each new season. Having split time his entire career his body is in much better condition than most RB's of his age. It might be another story if he had been carrying the rock 350-400 times per season as compared to his career average of less than 200 carries per season. In fact, his 230 carries in 2017 was the most in his career.
