Mark Ingram Won't Be at OTA's
How do you feel about this? Seems to me like if he's missing the first four games of the season, he really needs to get in as much time with his teammates as possible.
He's planning on participating in the mandatory practices though. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk |

OTA's are optional. Ingram has been in this offense his entire Saints career. He'll be there for manditory minicamp and presumably training camp. He was a top 5 back in the league last season.
In short, much ado about nothing. SFIAH |

Suspended for 4 games, skipping OTAs... Not off to a good start for a contract year.
He better ball out this season. |

Re: Mark Ingram Won't Be at OTA's
Ingram, a 28yo RB who took over six (6) years just to scrape over a thousand (1000) RuYds in a season is gonna net a 3rd pick?
Maybe if we trade him in-season to a desperate title contender, at the trade deadline, not in our conference... Ingram's highest value will be with the Saints, Payton and Mickster trading first and second round draft picks to select him... Includes five (5) years into developing him; that said, he'll be 29yo in December so wouldn't extend any guaranteed money beyond a year... |

I’m happy with him, I just don’t know how happy Payton is with him right now. Or how happy he is . I get the feeling he thinks the Saints could have done more to back him up on this suspension thing. The way the medical staff has been dropping the ball lately it wouldn’t surprise me if they gave him or recommended something that turned out to be banned. Not maliciously, out of ignorance. There are tons of new supplements coming out all the time and if the homework isn’t done I can see it being overlooked. |

And it's one of my biggest critiques of Bad-Sean/Mickster trading a first and a second round pick to acquire him - Why not use him? But Ingram shares the criticism in this as well as he didn't even hit 4 RuYds/carry in his first two years; and while not exclusive, he had ample carries... Ingram's first four years he was among the league's worst going down on initial contact; some on him, some was his exclusivity on short yardage... He must've rode the short bus at Bama because it took him nearly five years to break out and he didn't even scrape over 1000 RuYds till his sixth year... When his rookie contract period matured, so had his game and his greatest value was to the team that developed him, especially in that market year... But I just don't see extending him when he's turning 29yo in December and we'll be severely thin or non-existent at some positions when contracts expire... Built to win now, this year, just don't see moving Ingram unless Kamara and our RBs stay fresh and are giving us as good offensive balance as last season... And only then, I'd trade him to a desperate contender, preferably in the other conference and it likely be for a Day 2 pick... But, at the end of the season, I'm moving on to a younger runner and I'm taking that money and using it to extend other players... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

![]() I'm simply wondering if it was the draft pick position by the Saints or the player that you have a problem with? All I know is that Mark has been consistently good in New Orleans. |
