Re: Sources: Zach Strief offered New Orleans Saints radio play-by-play job
I like Zach. I even like his play by play analysis. But Henderson was like a true fan. Emotionally involved and good at his craft. I see no one on the horizon- other than myself, lol, who could come close. Too bad I’m not in the running.

He'll be great... maybe in time come close to Jim Henderson, the GOAT.

Now replace Bobby Hebert and Buddy D a respectable successor. Bobby is a slap in his face. I like Garic a lot but not for the point after. Who would be a good replacement for Buddy? He has to have character as Buddy did but lack the jackass clown shoe personality Bobby does. |

Im a big fan of Zach, as a player and as a guy, but how in the world
do you replace a Jim Henderson ? He'd be a good fit for Color, but I think play by play should be a career broadcaster, over a player. A pure radio guy. |

Yea Bobby is an ass that thinks nobody knows football but him and buddy sounded like he had a jar of marbles in his mouth when he talked. Zach will be fine as long as his heart is in it.

Yes, experience is the key, but he does a degree from Northwestern in Broadcast Journalism... We'll find out in a few weeks if he's got the chops, a lot of pressure, HUGE standard left by Henderson, but Zach may just surprise... |
