I like Zach. I even like his play by play analysis. But Henderson was like a true fan. Emotionally involved and good at his craft. I see no one on the horizon- other than myself, lol, who could come close. Too bad I’m not in the running.

Yea, it will never be the same for us. The next generation will no doubt grow to love him and embrace him as tradition over time but Henderson’s shoes cannot be filled.
Now replace Bobby Hebert and Buddy D a respectable successor. Bobby is a slap in his face. I like Garic a lot but not for the point after.
Who would be a good replacement for Buddy? He has to have character as Buddy did but lack the jackass clown shoe personality Bobby does.

Thirty, to clarify, do you think Zach Strief, playing his entire career for the Saints, and with teammates still active would be a True Fan?

Fan - probably. Insider for sure and perhaps too close to some players/coaches for honest comment.

He'll be great... maybe in time come close to Jim Henderson, the GOAT.

Im a big fan of Zach, as a player and as a guy, but how in the world
do you replace a Jim Henderson ?

He'd be a good fit for Color, but I think play by play should be a career
broadcaster, over a player. A pure radio guy.

You sound like the talking heads that were on Eric Asher's show Thursday night...

Yes, experience is the key, but he does a degree from Northwestern in Broadcast Journalism...

We'll find out in a few weeks if he's got the chops, a lot of pressure, HUGE standard left by Henderson, but Zach may just surprise...
