Just a little interview...
What are you doing as far as preparing for the upcoming draft? I’ve been working out with Pepa Sports in Alameda, CA since Jan 3. We train 6 days per week for about 5 hours a day. I also have to get into the training room at Cal for an hour or so to get some rehab stuff done with my knee. I’ve also been lifting weights and really watching what I eat. What is your current Height, Weight, 40 time? Right now I am 6’3, 220 lbs, and I have been running consistently in the 4.3-4.4 range. How is the knee feeling? Do you feel you are at 100%? My knee feels perfect. I never had any problems or setbacks during the rehab and I feel that I could play in a game tomorrow. Obviously, the doctors are encouraging me to take it easy and give it some more time. They know a lot more than I do so I’m gonna listen to them. Do you see yourself more as a possession receiver or as a deep threat? I think that the strength of my game is that I’m a well rounded receiver. I have the speed to stretch and get behind defenses, I’m willing to go over the middle, and I love blocking. I think that I have been labeled a “possession receiver with deceptive speed but I feel that I will change peoples’ opinions when I run. Which NFL player would you most compare yourself to? My favorite receiver in the league right now would have to be Drew Bennett. He is a bay area kid and it was good to see him do so well this year. Who is the best cornerback you have faced in your college career? This one is a toss up between Marcus Trufant and DeAngelo Hall. Both of these guys had speed and good hips to get in and out of cuts. If you could pick any team to be drafted by, who would it be and why? I wouldn’t mind going to San Diego to be by the beach and in that weather. The Chargers are also a real up and coming team and I would love to contribute to their future success. What do you think the toughest adjustment to the NFL will be? As far as the game goes, I think that I have been playing against the best in college, so the transition on the field won’t be too dramatic. I think that the lifestyle is the main thing that I will have to get used to. Football isn’t so much a game anymore, it’s a business as well. Growing up which player influenced you the most? Jerry Rice. I was a huge 49’er fan in the Debartolo days when they had the dynasty going. Montana to Rice was unstoppable. I also loved watching Cris Carter play. He had the best hands I’ve ever seen. Any certian NFL quarterback you would enjoy catchin passes from? I wouldn’t mind catching passes from Drew Brees or Chad Pennington. They both throw real catchable balls and they are playing for winning teams. I’d also like to play with either of my Cal boys, Kyle Boller or Aaron Rodgers. Favorite movie of all time? Gotta go with “Old School. Will Ferrell is a pretty funny guy. Come April why should an NFL GM select Chase Lyman? They should draft me because I have a good combination of size, speed, hands, toughness, and intelligence. I’ve never had any off the field problems, and I have a very good work ethic. |

I still can\'t believe we drafted this guy. Ambulance chase...that\'s pretty good.
Let\'s see, he\'s never finished a college season without a major injury. The FO jumped all over this guy......I just don\'t see where this makes sense. But hey.....best of luck chase. Give em heck on the practice squad/training table. |

Maybe the training staff and team doctor didn\'t earn their paychecks last year, so we got someone they can experiment on repeatedly. The team heard their complaints, and filled a need for them. Good job Saints. Way to look out for everyone.

Venturi, however, didn\'t complain at all. He couldn\'t see anything wrong with our defense. When comfronted by Haz, Venturi produced a series of photographs. Haz could only frown and walk away... |

this kids chances of playing for any team, much less the saints, are about as good as snowball in hell.... he\'ll NEVER see the field in an NFL uniform... not even from the bench... this guy has major knee concerns and would be best to hang up the cleats and sell some real estate...

You guys going to let this kid put a uniform on before you bury him? He might come in and be the best WR we\'ve ever seen. (you never know)
