What is it that surprizes you guys? Over and over the comments on this board and others remain constant. Loomis is a FOOL!! This team is in the toilet big time with him as GM! All of the talk about wasted draft choices, busts, and the rest fall on his shoulders. He is a cap man, not a talent evaluator. The scouts quit because he refuses to listen to people who know more than he does.
Then when the set of stumble bums that we have on the team fail, he blames the coaches. But he makes sure where his head is firmly placed. Right up Uncle Tommy's tail. We're hosed. |

I know how recruiting goes in H.S. and college, because I've been around it, but I have not been around NFL scouting/drafting... yet I cannot believe that the coaching staff has no input on who gets picked... |

Over and over you see things that seem to say that the coaching staff doesn't have an input in the draft. Why, when we have had such glaring needs elsewhere did we draft Will Smith. Darren Howard was a stud, according to all of the suits in the front office, they even Franchised him. Then they get a DE first. Same thing with Henderson. When we could have had Mark Clayton, by far the better receiver and Smith would have stayed for round #2. This says to me that someone don't know what they're doing. Now this fiasco. |

Couple things.
WhoDat, Haslett anounced several weeks before the draft that there was going to be changes in the scouting department. They wanted to wait until after the draft since things were already set to go. All of it was expected. If this was Septamber you wouldn't have even heard about it. I swear you guys kill me. We could let Venturi leave and some of you would insist we must have screwed up somehow. The fact that Brown NEVER EVEN MISSED A PRACTICE IN THREE YEARS tells me its a non-issue. Slow day for news I guess. But if there's a negative buried anywhere on any player I'm absolutely positive it'll surface here first. Man I'm glad to be back. Back away from the ledge fellas. Tigger, Chase Lyman pick is totally different from the Cie Grant pick. Cie was not an injury risk when we selected him. His knee problems started in pre-season. No comparison at all. By ALL accounts Cie Grant was kickin it and taking names before his knee problems surfaced. RDOX Do you really think Will Smith would have been around in round two? You must mean a different Smith. Mark Clayton instead of Henderson? Wasn't Clayton in the 2004 draft? Or do you mean Michael Clayton? He was picked before we picked so that can't be it. was there yet another Clayton in the the 2003 draft? |

That's not so unreasonable. |

THANK GOD THIS IS BACK UP!!!
When I read the news about Chase Lymon I immediately wanted to run to my computer and log on to the B&G board to say, "SEE!!! WHAT THE F*** WERE THEY THINKING WHEN THEY PICKED HIM?" Of course, there was no B&G board that day. It's been eating me up ever since then. BlackEye I think Hawthorne would have been a much better pick at that spot, despite his smoking habit. Here is a guy who was at one time predicted as a first rounder. Lymon missed OVER HALF OF THE GAMES IN HIS COLLEGE CAREER DUE TO INJURY. OVER HALF... I don't know why the scouts left. I don't know who is ultimately responsible for the draft picks. I do know that Chase Lyman is the pick that has probably bothered me the most in the past couple of drafts. ... AND I'M GLAD THE B&G.NET MSGBOARD IS BACK. |
