Zach Hilton: Like him, will see more time this year. Needs to get lower on blocks
Colby Buckwoldt: Bigger, Stronger, Smart, doesn't make the same mistake twice. Don't count him out yet.
Boo Williams: Played with groin injury all last season. Haz expects a better year from him this year.
Brian Young: Played with broken wrist last year and was great.
Offense ran 400 less plays last season than the year before.
Rodney Leisle: Haz likes him a lot, looks for good things from him this year.
Jammal Brown: Haz compares him to Jonathan Ogden.

Hmmm: Any of you scouting report gurus have anything on Leisle?

Haz on Gerry V's show yesterday

some summary of interview with haslett i found-

Big on Buckwoldt, don\'t count him out is what he said, very hard working, smart, doesn\'t make the same mistake twice, bigger, stronger, etc.,
He said Buckwoldt weighed 222 when he joined the Saints last year and as of yesterday was 247!
Said he was always fast, ran a 4.4 when they timed him, now has the size.

15 LBs going in, will keep 11 going into training camp, so not all of the players they currently have signed will get to training camp.

Zach Hilton, will get playing time this year, hardest working player on team, loves the game and wants to be a good football player, height is his strength and weakness because he has a hard time getting low enough to block effectively, good in red zone. Sounds like he will get time.
Said that Zach\'s best weapon is his height, but its also probably his biggest weakness. Said he weighed in at 257 yesterday. That seems light to me?

Brian Young played with broken wrist and was great. High on Rodney Leslie, looks for good things. Likes D line. Hummed alot when asked about Sullivan...
This response came when Gerry asked him about Sullivan. Haslett said that Sullivan has the athletic tools and he can do things the others can\'t. Then he said he thought there would be more competition this season, which may help Sullivan\'s motivation.

Non-commital on Cie Grant, doing well now but won\'t know until contact about knee. Haslett said that Grant looks good right now, but because of his history with the knee, they won\'t know anything for sure until he gets into training camp. It sounded like they were having Grant do lots of agility things and that he was ok so far.

Offense had 400 less plays last season than the year before. Concentrating on ball control more with 2 good backs behind Deuce so he won\'t have to carrying the entire load all season. Just to add to the above clarifications. Haslett meant that in the regular season games, the offense was on the field for about 400 fewer plays in 2004 compared to 2003. He said if they had just averaged 3 yards a play, that would have been 1200 more yards. Went on to discuss how falling behind really put the team in a bad position.

I just wet myself!!!!
I heard they practically had to drag him out of the weight room every day this off-season, but holy crap! 247lbs??? Thats MLB size!!!
I won\'t be able to stop grinning all day.

Or SLB size, which I would prefer for him. Put Finch in the middle, if he\'s okay, Watson at WLB and Colby at SLB. 247 can handle that. 247 with speed could excel. I won\'t wet myself yet though.

I\'m with ya whodi. If those three can materialize into a solid unit, we could see some much better LB play in the near future. That\'s really young at LB and there\'s alot to know, but I like the idea of that lineup.

Smart move by Haz Kelley. If Sully has any chance, don\'t want to crush his motivation by speaking ill of him. But doesn\'t bode well that he basically has no comments.

I like the sound of that lineup myself yas. I am willing to sacrifice experience for the speed, youth, and ability we would field. We could be growing something good with Will and Grant on the line. A young safety crew. We get a stud CB next year and we may be a damn good D. LEt the Ruffs, and Knights and Hodges play special teams. These guys may be where it\'s at.

His scouting knock was he didn\'t come off blocks well. But that was as a 220 lb senior in college.
If he\'s learned to play in traffic better you may be right. I think he\'s atheletic enough to learn all 3 spots.
James Allen started off at WLB and made the transition to SLB.
OK, really bad example but I never really thought about Colby moving over. He definitely has the speed to stay with any TE in this league. Now he has the size of a SAM, I just wonder if he\'s improved his traffic skills enough to supplant Allen.

I understand the concern Danno, but traffic skills could as well be a result of gettign manhandled by bigger TEs and linemen. I weigh more than 222 pounds and I doubt I could take on an NFL tight end or lineman. I think strength and speed would be his biggest assets at SLB. I mean holy crap, adding 25 lbs of muscle?? That is shocking. And keeping his speed? We better watch for a steroid test. lol But at any rate, I would allow him the opportunity before I went back to Allen or Hodge or anyone else. How could he be worse? And it gets him, Finch, and Watson on the field together, and the ability to develop as a unit. I don\'t think anyone here is expecting us to be a top 10 D next year, so I say why not?

Hummed alot when asked about Sullivan
Could I get a translation on this?

Did he hum the tune to \"Happy Days are Here Again\"?

Or was it more \"Fell on Black Days\"?

I\'ve just never heard of humming as a reaction to player development.
