Well ...

2 catches, 72 yards and a TD (nice double move on a repaired knee) last night. Cam's confidence is building.

Not surprised on the effort. He'll be money in the slot & help this team hoist another Lombardi.

Continue to doubt Meredith if you want.

Don't doubt his ability. I saw him in that putrid Bears offense. He just doesn't need to rush back from his injury for this offense to click...we have so much firepower in the run & pass game already. He showed more confidence in his body last night than I've seen the previous 3 games.

They'd be wise to pitchcount him early this season & to keep those stooges from Oeschner's away from him.

He had 3 PS games with ziltch and drops. Totally missing the point and turning this into some quasi hate for him mew....he looked good last night. Was he wide open against backups? Yes. Is he gaining confidence? Yes. Should he be brought back slowly? Yes. Slow is fast fast is slow.

He had three preseason games with "zilch" because they have been bringing him back slowly. They had him on a pitch count to this point. His limited appearances were basically just getting him real time snaps. He was only targeted twice in the first three games and one was the "no touch" rocket from Hill from eight yards away in traffic.

Now it's time for him to get ramped up to start making an impact in the first regular season game.

I liked what I saw. It’s encouraging. I still doubt he makes it through the season. When is the last time Payton took a gamble on an injured player and got a return? Besides Brees he doesn’t have a great track record.

Shockey was high risk but that was more attitude. I will eat absolute crow but I see him making appearances like Snead right now like last year for a while. Smith is ready and will fight to the death for balls because that is what he does and what we need. Also downfield blocking where we make our money. CM is not ready for that level of violence.
