Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
Yeah, I was one that wanted to see more of J.T. His 'rookie' was showing. He also has a slower throwing motion than Hill & less accurate. Those can be coached, though, and I'd expect him on the P.S. this year unless another young QB falls in our lap after the big cuts.

Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
Barrett looked like a lost child. The last think we need is another Qb. He’s not even worth the PS

Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
Taysom played great! If he played like this the 1st or second preseason game, chances are the trade for Bridgewater wouldn't have happen.

What is Taysom's reality before Bridgewater? Not going to beat out Drew and not going to lose the bench to JT? Bridgewater comes in and he has to actually focus? I am not saying he actually needed the motivation, maybe two weeks ago was an off night. I am saying that motivation is plausible reason and its the Bridgewater acquisition that may have triggered his performance last night. |

Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
I think the play of Taysom solidified him as a 2nd string QB for now. What this means is the Saints can allow Bridgewater the right amount of time to assume the 2nd string roll, and eliminates the need to carry Savage for a few weeks into the regular season. As for Barrett, I would say his chances are fair at making the practice squad.

Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
JT might make it to the PS. But then again, We already have three QB's with Drew, Teddy and Taysom and I'm sure that we will carry all three on the roster this year. Do we really need to use a valuable PS roster spot on another QB when we have several strong candidates for the PS who could develop and then contribute?

Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
JT won't make the PS and showed nothing that he deserves with... we are going to carry 3 QB's so we really don't need to have JT around. I much rather sign another QB someone cuts to our PS.
Also Hill had one bad came and the others were good... so I get there are people that love him and some that hate him. Stop the maddness he was great last night and showed in an emergency he could hold it down. |

Re: Taysom Hill > JT Barrett
I don't think Barrett beating out Hill was ever really a consideration. Long term however, Barrett is 23, has a proven track record of success, and certainly has the physical tools.
I'd be more surprised to see Hill in the league 2-3 years from now than Barrett, but truth be told, both are long shots. |
