WWL is going to push anything they can to get the fans behind the team. One day he’s a bust but the next day when we sign him he’s Russel Wilson. That’s flip flopping worse than Hillary.
you would think they would at least act like they dislike the idea at first and then warm up to it to give listeners enough time to forget about them bashing him.
Just shows you how stupid our local media thinks fans are.

plus his stats the first two years were pretty good...and he didn't really have good receivers or oline

Having trouble seeing a downside.

But, that's just me.

if we let him walk it would be bonehead...He could be starting next year or the one after.

How much longer will Cam Jordan be elite? Ingram probably won’t come back next year. Unger has a couple years left. We might not even bring Peat back. Kamara will get his money. Thomas will get his money. Lattimore and Williams will get theirs. Those are our premier, young players. We have plenty of time. That’s what these GM’s get payed to do.

Cam has 3-5 elite seasons left.... I don't think they let peat walk

I’m voting this as the stupidest comment for the month of August. You’re a clear front runner

Only downside...

Bridgewater suffered a non-contact injury to his left leg. A subsequent MRI confirmed that he had torn his ACL and suffered other structural damage, including a dislocation of the knee joint. Bridgewater's injury would keep him out for 17–19 months,

I. Am. So. Happy. About. This

Thou unrealistic at the time I wanted him when he came out of college. He is a smart player that doesn't make a lot of mistakes. He has a good arm with a nice zip on the ball. I like that he is mobile but not a runner.

He comes across as wellspoken and intelligent in interviews I've seen. I think that is important as he might be the face of the franchise a couple of years down the road.

All in all he is one of my favourite young QBs in the leauge and I think this was a really smart move.

The left leg, the plant leg when throwing - among other gambling tendencies, Payton's one risk-taking optimist when it comes to medicals...

I go down for half a day & this happens.

We got a 1st Rd Pro Bowl QB with a 2019 3rd Rd pick by giving up a 2019 6th Rd pick. How stupid are the Jets? Its rhetorical & doesn't require an answer, but praising the J-E-T-S' stupidity will be required when TB is raising a Lombardi in 1 year A.D. (After Drew).

TB is perfect here, and I'll bet he's giddy to be working behind this line with these weapons in this offense. This is a man who is setting himself up to get paid big $$$ 3-4 yrs A.D.

Kind of surprised, I didn't see this coming. I thought we were going to with Savage who is a steady eddie with starting experience.

But Bridgewater is a solid QB. Maybe he's just quality insurance for this year or maybe he will stick and become more here down the road. The loss of the draft pick kind of stinks but I guess we would have to nail our late rounders and UFA's, it's been done before.

Savage is a statue in the pocket. I bet DeAndre Hopkins (elite WR) is still somewhere in Houston doing back flips that he's gone.

Well our backup QB problem is resolved. Now just need him to change his number, I don't need any more Heath Shuler nightmares.

Re: Saints Trade for Teddy Bridgewater

While I have no problem with the deal I don’t think he’s the future. He will be a journeyman throughout his career. Good enough to get a team with a good defense and running game along for a year or two until they find their franchise guy. Worth the gamble.
I could be wrong, I wanted Culpepper instead of Brees so what do I know.

Wrong. Teddy isn't a journeyman ... he's 25 & on his 3rd team as a result of a unfortunate injury with the JETS, Jets, Jets making like decisions (starting a rookie who didn't look better than the vet in Pre season). Teddy is also a former Pro Bowl player (in his 2nd season). His SECOND NFL season.

Mikey Loomis and the front office aren't idiots. If he leaves (I don't think he will) in FA after next year, we will get the Jets 2020 3rd round pick. Of course there's no guarantee but I'm confident Teddy B will be a Saint for a while.

End rant x(.

I hate the fact that the Saints only have one pick in the first two days of the draft but this looks like a no brainer, a pro bowl quarterback for a third round pick. Outstanding!

Well let's be real. It's a 1 year rental and backup QB insurance for a 3rd round pick. It's possible that Bridgewater never plays a down for the team and is gone next year.

But if the team can convince him to learn the offense and give him the opportunity to take over when Brees rides off into the sunset, presuming that Bridgewater is healthy, it'll be quite a coup.

Some need to stop overthinking this one. Sean has over-scouted Teddy for years. Knows EXACTLY how to use him and saw the opportunity to finally get a guy he thinks highly of.

The LEAST likely scenario is losing him after this season for no compensation and IMO this kid is front-runner to succeed Drew.
