Re: 6 takeaways from the Saints' victory over the Browns
I’m watching the big Antonio Callaway TD over and over. It’s a weird defensive play call. We’re lined up in a 3-3-5 with Anzalone-Klein-Davis at LB. The safeties come up to play underneath zones while Lattimore, Klein and Crawley are covering deep thirds. Klein does a fantastic job picking up the TE up the seam and stays with him stride for stride. Crawley just gets beat on the post route. It looked kind of like this:

Just seen the replay, I must admit, that was not cover 3, Crawley was in man or some kind of deep zone. Crawley played that coverage like he assume that Callaway didn't have the speed or Tyrod didn't have the arm strength, He absolutely was beaten |

Re: 6 takeaways from the Saints' victory over the Browns
Didn't we run a lot of cover two successfully last year when we played our best ball? I read an article saying that cover one and three are weaknesses for us. This must be another case of DA following Payton while trying to out think the opponents.

From the clips I saw of us last year we still ran mostly 1 and 3. I haven’t looked at all the film though.

-A win is a win.
-Thomas and Kamara are beasts. -Ingram is missed big time. -The Saints should trade a pick to the Bills for Ivory. Zero behind Kamara. -Unger had a bad game. -Armstead had a great game. -I'm all for Hill returning kicks. -Rankins flashed today. -Klien flashed today. -Jordan's hustle play keeping Taylor out of the endzone was huge. -Great and horrible plays by Crawley. -Stallworth was over matched big time today. -The Saints are like a box of choc o lates. |
