Is AK alright?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I had to watch highlights of the game on Red zone and such BUT it looked liked/seemed that Kamara wasn't having fun. He usually seems happy and carefree. Are the coaches working him too hard while Ingram is out? You ...

Re: Is AK alright?

I really think he was gassed at the end of the game. On consecutive plays he ducked out-of-bounds when he usually turns for the extra yard or two.
He was pretty amped when he thought he had the winning TD, so he's okay mentally. We need to find someone else to pick up 5-6 touches next week. Seems like Brees checks down to him way too often

There's really no other option at this point for the check down until Ingram returns.

Re: Is AK alright?

Can't speak for any other poster but Kamara is getting used far too much in this offense. He's a RB/slot back, WR & now occasionally punt returns. In the words of my grandmother ... "he's probably spent & exhausted".

Kamara is a special player & his health is paramount. One more week and then Mark Angrum returns.

Re: Is AK alright?

There is always another option let both Guilise (SP?) and Williams walk bring back Scott and Tate. I think they made the wrong choices. As far as Kamara he is definitely being over used punt returns for what ? They are going to get this man hurt if they aren't careful. Glad Ingram will be back soon. As far as him stepping out of bounds I think was the smart thing to do they had the angle on him and why take hits for little reward ?

He is going to get injured if sp doesn't slow the f down.

Dude had 16 carries and like 15 catches...plus returns. Wayyyy tooooo much. We better figure out something else. SP was well aware of the MI suspension. No excuses

And your solution if we still want to win every game?

Solved it in the draft or off-season like the Saints should have. Not to injure one of our main weapons would be a start. I wouldn't excuse over using one of our stars to the point that he's going to get injured from fatigue.

Re: Is AK alright?

In the first 2 games AK had 20 & 19 touches.
At Atlanta he had 31, plus some return duty. And he played nearly an entire extra quarter with O/T. Yeah, that's a lot. And I think Sean is/was well aware of what he's asking this 23 year old to do. This was a divisional game and we badly needed this win after already losing 1 divisional game to the Bucs.
We've got one more game in NY and then Mark Ingram will be back, & angry. And we love it when MI is angry.
So, have a beer and relax.
