He isn’t @‘ing Josh Norman as we speak launching verbal attacks with no end in sight.

The societal ill is people being selective about when they want to mind their business. Guarantee Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara still get the contracts they deserve if they continue to produce the way they have. This won’t hurt them in the slightest. YOU think they’re embarrassing themselves. Others are entertained. You might need to take a cultural competency class. Society isn’t monlithic, nor should it be. People don’t have to adhere to what you believe is the proper code of conduct. You just come across sounding like a hater. And if you’re proud of that, bravo.

But you’re right. I’m not put off by a 23 and a 25 year old showing themselves to be slightly juvenile in nature. They should be afforded the right to grow at their own pace like the real, college frat boys do.
I know you fancy yourself to be the most "cultured" person in the universe, and you'd like to think you represent some new moral standard by which there is NO standard, and everyone should just be accepted the way they are.

For your information, I'm in my early thirties, and social media was born in my teen years. So, yes, I grew up with the same opportunities to act like an idiot on the internet, just like everyone else my age and younger, but I choose to be a bit more civil and measured in my responses to people. Does that mean I'm perfect and do everything right? Not even close. But there are lines that decent human beings should have the common sense to draw, and to stay behind.

My opinions are neither radical, nor are they outdated. It's called handling yourself with humility. People lack humility, nowadays. You portray me as some kind of bully for simply expecting that people in their mid 20's and early 30's (the people involved in this spat) should be able to have their arguments in a manner befitting of their age. I get that tempers flare, especially when you're young. So they had it out... terrific... Now move on. But instead, they persist and their insults mirror that of children.

By the way, you are sitting there defending Thomas and Kamara, as if I feel sorry for Norman. I am calling ALL of these guys childish. I don't care who started it, and I don't care who it's directed at. It's all ridiculous.

And as for people supposedly needing to mind their own business, this does not have to be my personal business. These guys chose to air out their little trash talking marathon where everyone could see it, so I am commenting on it. That's the thing about the internet, you can't hide, and they know that full well. This is why I don't use social media anymore (I had a Myspace account, once, and refuse to use all of the new crap). I keep my personal business private. It's one thing to give opinions as we all do in forums like this one, but if you're going to have an extended squabble with somebody, take it somewhere private. You can text, private message, email or (gasp) handle it in person behind closed doors.

I'm not suggesting they need my permission. They have all the right in the world to act as foolish as they want to, as long as they aren't breaking things in the process. But this is my opinion of them, same as you have opinions of people you don't know and will never meet. Make sense? And no, I'm not a hater. Do I have to hate someone to believe they are immature? Maybe you hate me because you disagree with me? That's the problem with people like yourself. You can't seem to grasp the idea that someone can hold a negative are dissenting opinion toward someone else without it being this awful act of hatred against humanity. That shows YOUR intolerance toward others.

Lastly, I don't believe that even frat boys should be allowed to grow up like frat boys. Fraternities are nothing but sanctioned idiot groups, as far as I'm concerned. There was a time, long before you or I were born, where boys became men before they were 15, because that was life. I don't think we need to go that far back in time, but there is no reason for 20 plus year olds to act a fool just because they think they can.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

You're wasting your time. He isnt making excuses for them because of "culture." He's making excuses for their behavior because of the color of their skin. There is little accountability and he doesn't believe they should be held to any standard because of skin color. Rez hides behind his "culture" theme because he's racially bias and he believes white people owe black people some sort of daily pass for anything and everything because of slavery. He has a victim mentality and has an excuse for everything.

I blocked him a long time ago. Its unfortunate too. He's very intelligent and I enjoyed his insight into football. But his real personality and hidden agenda were too much for me to handle.

It’s amazing how well that Iggy button works. I put Guido on ignore last week and the board is much more tolerable.

I personally really like Rez's "real" personality. Besides, there are several agendas around here and some not quite so hidden.

Hmmm?

Most of us are upfront about who we are and what our beliefs and intentions are. Then there are some who try to pretend to be cool and above it all, but they are really just miserable, hateful people behind the facade. It's unfortunate.

You like his personality, even though he makes it clear how biased his views are. Good for you.

I feel sorry for those miserable, hateful people. I am blessed that I have a wonderful life, a wonderful family and a wonderful group of friends. I can tell you that Rez has the same. I am blessed that Rez happens to be one of those friends.

His views are no more biased than any others. They just happen to be different than yours. We all have bias based views of the world. It all depends upon what culture impacted our development.

I'm glad you have a wonderful life. That's good. But your closing statement is completely untrue.

He is FAR more biased than most people. You see, there are differences of opinion, and then there are liars who will make up any pitiful excuse to get out from under the foot that is stomping on them in an argument. That's about as respectfully blunt as I can put it.

Your defense of him is nothing more than a cop out, and not a strong one, at that. I don't give two cents about cultural impacts. I prefer to deal in reality. Something called facts, or truth. Truth is absolute. The old line that says "there are no wrong opinions, just different one's", or any such variation of that, is a lie. If you have a room with ten people in it, and they all have a different opinion, it's possible that they are all wrong... But it is IMPOSSIBLE that they can all be right. The truth is what it is, regardless of your viewpoint.

I don't base my opinions on the person we're speaking about off of a viewpoint. I have the same view of him as everyone else in here. He consistently makes up excuses for black people, and has come straight out and said in the past that he believes white people owe reparations.

That's his viewpoint, alright. And it's a racist viewpoint. It's not even a debate.

My defense, if you wish to call it that, is nothing but what I know of my friend. I am a devout Reagan Republican (based upon my cultural upbringing) and yet, also being brought up as the son of a 30+ year military member I have learned to see and respect other cultural viewpoints. Rez understands where I stand on certain issues and I understand his. We also have many that coexist. Rez needs no help from me. He has a journey in mind and I respect that journey. I don't think it requires your help at all. So, don't worry.

Oh, and ...

18-1 Baby!

You're absolutely right about what this "culture" thing really is with him. His bias has always been evident. Culture is the word his type always hides behind, and we're supposed to respect that somehow. We can't question the fruits of this culture, or we are bigots.

I know what he really means when he says these things, and I just want him to finally admit it. It is probably a waste of time waiting on that, though.
