I don't care if they are professional athletes are common, everyday people. Your problem here is you automatically assume my opinion is biased to a certain group of people (what a surprise), in this case, football players. My problem is these are grown men acting like babies. This thing you call "culture" is a societal disease, right now. I didn't need you to inform me that this is what people do on their twitter. This isn't news to me. I simply have a problem with people airing their problems all over social media, and using words that make them sound like little kids having a fight over who's cooler. And, yes, their actions ARE hurting somebody... Themselves. They are embarrassing themselves. And the fact that they clearly don't care about that says a lot about them. At some point, these guys have to get over it. And if they can't get over it then, as I said before, let your play do the talking. When one guy one ups the other, the guy who lost the battle should be motivated to do better, and the guy who won the battle should be happy that he did his job and just leave it at that. But if even THAT isn't enough, at least be able to communicate in a way that doesn't make you look like a little brat. These guys look like bratty little frat boys. Listening to you, you'd think I'm criticizing these guys for not being perfect, rather than for what they are actually doing, which has been a pathetic display of immaturity. Making excuses for their behavior just tells me that you are like them. If you're proud of that, congratulations. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

The societal ill is people being selective about when they want to mind their business. Guarantee Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara still get the contracts they deserve if they continue to produce the way they have. This won’t hurt them in the slightest. YOU think they’re embarrassing themselves. Others are entertained. You might need to take a cultural competency class. Society isn’t monlithic, nor should it be. People don’t have to adhere to what you believe is the proper code of conduct. You just come across sounding like a hater. And if you’re proud of that, bravo. But you’re right. I’m not put off by a 23 and a 25 year old showing themselves to be slightly juvenile in nature. They should be afforded the right to grow at their own pace like the real, college frat boys do. |

Re: Micharl Thomas fined $10,026
Thomas is quickly becoming one of the biggest on the field **** talkers in Football. He is notorious for it. He can back it up so more power to him.
I read an article somewhere that said during camp his rookie year on the first day in pads he straight up raped the ball from one of our bigger named DB’s. When the defender hit the ground he taunted the hell out of him. They wouldn’t say who the DB was but I suspect it was KV. |

In other news, the Ravens just shutout their opponent and had 11 sacks. I hope we are putting the Redskins game waaaay behind us, a lot of preparation will be needed for this next one.

Just in.... Breaking News
A personal internet debate just broke out over a personal internet debate. Lighten up fellas. It's football, not a d*$k, you don't have to take it so hard. Hard to believe that we are standing alone in 2nd place in the NFC and no one knows how to enjoy it. |

For your information, I'm in my early thirties, and social media was born in my teen years. So, yes, I grew up with the same opportunities to act like an idiot on the internet, just like everyone else my age and younger, but I choose to be a bit more civil and measured in my responses to people. Does that mean I'm perfect and do everything right? Not even close. But there are lines that decent human beings should have the common sense to draw, and to stay behind. My opinions are neither radical, nor are they outdated. It's called handling yourself with humility. People lack humility, nowadays. You portray me as some kind of bully for simply expecting that people in their mid 20's and early 30's (the people involved in this spat) should be able to have their arguments in a manner befitting of their age. I get that tempers flare, especially when you're young. So they had it out... terrific... Now move on. But instead, they persist and their insults mirror that of children. By the way, you are sitting there defending Thomas and Kamara, as if I feel sorry for Norman. I am calling ALL of these guys childish. I don't care who started it, and I don't care who it's directed at. It's all ridiculous. And as for people supposedly needing to mind their own business, this does not have to be my personal business. These guys chose to air out their little trash talking marathon where everyone could see it, so I am commenting on it. That's the thing about the internet, you can't hide, and they know that full well. This is why I don't use social media anymore (I had a Myspace account, once, and refuse to use all of the new crap). I keep my personal business private. It's one thing to give opinions as we all do in forums like this one, but if you're going to have an extended squabble with somebody, take it somewhere private. You can text, private message, email or (gasp) handle it in person behind closed doors. I'm not suggesting they need my permission. They have all the right in the world to act as foolish as they want to, as long as they aren't breaking things in the process. But this is my opinion of them, same as you have opinions of people you don't know and will never meet. Make sense? And no, I'm not a hater. Do I have to hate someone to believe they are immature? Maybe you hate me because you disagree with me? That's the problem with people like yourself. You can't seem to grasp the idea that someone can hold a negative are dissenting opinion toward someone else without it being this awful act of hatred against humanity. That shows YOUR intolerance toward others. Lastly, I don't believe that even frat boys should be allowed to grow up like frat boys. Fraternities are nothing but sanctioned idiot groups, as far as I'm concerned. There was a time, long before you or I were born, where boys became men before they were 15, because that was life. I don't think we need to go that far back in time, but there is no reason for 20 plus year olds to act a fool just because they think they can. |

We're just giving opinions, here. The difference is we haven't been at it for weeks. |
