Bonafide Deep-Fried Nice And Greasy Power Rankings

1. New Orleans Saints (9-1)
Week 11 ranking: 1

Thankful for: Drew Brees and Sean Payton are better than ever in Year 13 together. Brees has been doing some amazing things for a long time, but nothing compares to the insane season he is having at age 39 (25 TD passes, one interception and a 76.9 completion percentage). Meanwhile, Payton is still coming up with creative new wrinkles on a weekly basis for an offense that is averaging 48 points per game over the past three weeks. -- Mike Triplett

Well, considering that the Chiefs screwed the pooch last night, the Rams have the much easier track to home field advantage. Of their remaining games, only one team has a winning record. By contrast, the Saints play four games against teams with winning records.

How do the Rams get so much cred after playing in that poop-show last night where defense was an afterthought, I have no idea.

Granted they are 10-1 and 1/2 game ahead of the Saints, but that will end after this week because the Rams have a bye.

I felt the Saints win against the Rams was convincing. Sure we let off the gas, but we put our foot back on the gas and left them in the dust.

Yeah and Mahomes threw 3 int's and lost 2 fumbles... BUT HE'S MVP MVP MVP!
I would call Mahomes performance on the last 2 drives "rookie" at best. Throwing lame ducks into triple coverage does not make you MVP.

I'm pretty sure Joe Tessatore got his teeth stuck in Mahomes jock strap during postgame.

Again, entertaining game, but some of the saddest defense from both teams I've seen all year.

And the Rams DB's could not cover KC's wide receivers - just like we saw in the Saints game.

The Rams - Bears game will be their final test. It should be interesting since DaBears can play D, unlike KC....and it's in Chicago. I'll be praying for snow...

Yep.

The weather in Chitown will be brutal. Not a fast track for passing & they have a very stout defensive front. Not to mention Mack is a monster.

I'm sick of hearing about the Rams. They'll head back to sunny LA with an L.

Any given Sunday. Bears will be a test but you also never know. The Lions could also spoil them. If the Rams play defense like they did last night, the Lions could have a field day.

One thing I know for a fact is the Saints are playing at a level of confidence that is much higher than anyone else, even when we made our run in 2009 to the Super Bowl.

I've seen this team grow since the Browns game to where the defense has caught up with the offense and now when kickoff happens, I have this feeling the Saints are well prepared for anything.

Honestly the Eagles game got so boring by the 4th quarter that I searched cookbooks for my mom's Oyster Dressing recipe for Thanksgiving. Everyone watching the game felt the Eagles had no chance to make a comeback. My family members at the game were texting and saying the same thing.

Ahmmm. Can you share that Oyster Dressing recipe?

Re: the Saints. They are fast becoming a complete team, with few weaknesses. This will separate us from the rest during the playoff run.

Very Solid (as in NFL Best) at:
QB
O-line (plus solids subs)
Running back
Wide Receiver (with improving #2, 3)
D-Line (solid subs as well)
Linebacker (especially against the run)
Kicking
Play Calling

Good and Improving at:
Tight End
Corner
Safety

Not many, if any holes, as we move into the home stretch.

Because as you know but probably haven't considered, LA isn't going to support an NFL product that rates middle to lower 1/3rd... The NFL has a new market to build to support.

Its the entertainment/business side that we chose to ignore so that we can forgo being cynical about our 'sport'.
