I can’t wait to see how this team responds knowing homefiled could be out of reach.

Re: Demarcus Lawrence was right

Up until last night I wasn't really worried about our road play. Hopefully we just chalk this one up as a stinker.

Re: Demarcus Lawrence was right

This Dallas defense was a quality defense as much as I hate to say it about Dallas. They pressured Drew, man to man coverage contested every throw and the LB crew could possibly be the best in the NFL and will only get bettter when Lee returns.

Our defense played well all evening a few mistakes here and there but they limited the Dallas offense to 13 points well below their season average per game. Elliott ran for only 76 yards and Dallas rushed for a total of 100 yards to include that Prescott run where he gained 20 yards with multiple missed tackles.

Pass defense was too soft catches, were seldom contested except to hold and be called for it. Again as I have seen all season when the mid to deep routes are thrown and completed our safety is nowhere in the picture. Even if the single high safety is covering the full field why don’t they guess right or coached and positioned correctly to be in position at least some of the time.

Not because the earlier 4th down attempt failed and it was difference at the end of the game hindsight 20/20. It was obvious by that time of the game going for it on 4th this was going to be a low scoring defensive game you must put points, any points guaranteed when you in that position. That decision to go for it was a mistake and not worth the risk reward delta.

The receivers dropped too many open catches and I feel never adjusted to accommodate the pressure and limited time Brees had the get the ball away cleanly. How many times did Brees get the ball away to short route receivers who were still running up field like they had been able to to do all season but Dallas was in Brees face in 2 seconds or less. The receivers never adjusted and Brees had few options.

But still just a 3 point game with several lost opportunities to have continued drives that we killed because of dropped balls and receivers just not adjusting routes to the limited time Brees was given. Kudos to Dallas DLine the played well and gave our Oline the best test to date this season.

Identify, Adapt and move on. Might be the best defense we play all season long and we will probably see them again.

And Dallas was at home - that's a big difference when you factor in the NFL's F*ck You Sean Payton schedule...

Thursday games are a bad, very bad idea...

Not buying it. Our offense got punched in the mouth and didn’t have enough to counter with.

Re: Demarcus Lawrence was right

I remember back when I was a kid and the Cowboys of the 70's were so good. They were often unbeatable, but every season they'd have a stinker or two. You could count on it. Every year.

I think we just had ours, notwithstanding the opening game, and maybe Cleveland, as we were finding ourselves.

But for sure Dallas just beat us. Straight up. Yes, there were some bad calls, but we were essentially inept on offense, and so we tip our hats to the Dallas defense and get humble, re-focus, and take it out on Tampa.

We probably lost the 1 seed, but we do travel well this season, so all is not lost. If we get Dallas again it'll be in the dome, and I'd wager we'll see a different outcome if that turns out to be the case.

C'mon Man...

We haven't lost the 1 seed yet. Rams go to Chicago a week from Sunday and the Bears have as good a defense as Dallas. So that may be their time to drop a stinker like we did last night.

Still tons of football left. I wouldn't rule out the Lambs losing to the desperate Lions, Bears or Philly.

They haven't laid an egg yet and it's bound to happen.
