Saints Final Record 15-4 2018-19

A NFL CONSPIRACY THEORY?

Does anybody think the NFL advertisers really want the Saints in the Superbowl in 2019?

These advertisers pay the NFL millions and want to see results for their money. This is why the NFC really would like to see these NFC teams in the playoffs, LA, the Bears, Dallas and the Saints. Realistically there is only one place for a small town team in the playoffs for advertisers looking to get the most for their investment.

Was the first half of Dallas game fixed?
Just ask yourself this… How many times Brees and Payton scored zero has points in the first half? Never? It seemed like the real Saints team didn’t bother to ever show up. Was that the same team you watched for 10 straight victories? You could tell from Kamara's facial look the whole game. He looked pissed off.
Was Dallas that good? You decide…

FOLLOW THE MONEY.
Consider... If the Saints in Dallas would have went up 17-3, how many millions of fans would have stopped watching and went to sleep? Also consider the money advertisers will make when Dallas makes the playoffs. When the Cowboys won the game, I wasn't shocked. Now when Dallas makes the playoffs, they will be promoted as the team beating the Saints. This will no doubt increase viewership in the playoffs. So the Saints packed on in for the greater impact for the entire league.

This is why I think the Saints will be forced into the #2 seed.
This helps create greater viewership for the NFL advertisers too. With a small market team having the first week bye, it allows for more viewership with greater market cities in the 1st round of the playoffs.

There are numerous reasons the Saints will want to be the #2 seen in the playoffs too.

Now all of the pressure is off New Orleans and on the Rams. The Saints could certainly end up #1, but I love the fact that the Rams are forced to play that part. Think of the pressure on the Rams to keep #1. At best we had a 10% chance of making the #1 seed in the playoffs anyway based on schedule.

Now the Rams have to keep the #1 seed.

There will be no rest because they sure as hell don’t want to come to New Orleans. Does anybody thing the NFL wants the Rams to go to New Orleans? Now we won’t have to kill ourselves in the final few games, and we get the bye week off before the playoffs. What good would it be if we beat ourselves stupid in the final 4 games?

Since we will have to beat the Rams and the refs anyway, we will no doubt need a very healthy and well rested team to enter the playoffs. This will give us the greatest change to win in LA.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see the Saints get the #1 seed, but I think we can win in LA.
Hell… we have already done it. Plus who thinks our offense is just as good an LA but our defense is better.

Ok, I agree with your overall premise. The league would NEVER let the Saints or ANY small market team win multiple Super Bowls. But then you say it's a benefit for the Saints to not get the #1 seed. Uhhhhhh???? I see your point but you ended up confusing me too. Wait..........All I have to say is this year will greatly affect how I watch sports in the future. If the refs flat out remove the Saints from the playoffs themselves, I'm done with the NFL. Conversely, when Anthony Davis signs with the Lakers I'm done with the NBA. I think the NBA refs are worst of all. They will never let AD succeed in NO. He knows this. I watched Baron Davis and Chris Paul leave. When AD leaves, I'm done. Does anyone else think it was suspicious that the NFL let the Saints win their only championship right after the city endured the wrath of Katrina?

Anyone remember that juggernaut 1999 Kurt Warner/Marshall Faulk "Greatest Show on Turf team?? As great as that team was, they laid an egg against Detroit (ended 8-8) just like we did vs the Cows.

They finished 13-3, took care of business in the playoffs & ended up hoisting a Lombardi trophy in late January.

This 2018 Saints team could do the same.

Just like the Saints stole the Lombardi from Peyton Manning in 2010. That was never supposed to happen.

was it never to happen or the conspiracy was that lets have Manning play against his Dads team and let the Dad's team win to throw everyone off???

I have to agree on 1 thing we didn’t play to win / never tried to change the pace or scheme with the all out terror coming from Dallas d. U don’t think we could have slowed that rush down with roll outs ,reverses hill running it in from the 1 foot line why did we can the hill plays? Just saying. Payton was content and I don’t like him that way. But in hind-site. Remember when we lost the 3 in 09 that’s what he looked like - content okey to back off for the Finish. I’m in if he’s pulling the reigns back for the outcome

thats the fact jack!!!!!

I'm just making an observation. I'm just saying FOLLOW THE MONEY.
The Saints knew to pack it in.

I'd love to be the #1 seed but I think we only have a 10% chance of winning home field advantage when you consider our record vs the Rams, I like the pressure being on the Rams to have to play the games all the way to the finish or lose the home field advantage to us. We can actually lose 3 of the next 4 games and still be the #2 seed. It doesn't matter. We don't have to play everybody at full speed and show all the plays every game.

Let the Rams do that.
