Az Hakim was in for a visit. McCarthy's quote was "we're always looking to upgrade our team if we can." ???

First of all, I don't think Hakim is an upgrade for us. Are they that disappointed with their 2nd round pick Henderson? Do they not think Michael Lewis can play? Where is Chance Lymon? (OK, I couldn't help that one.) Upgrade?

Why don't they ever apply this reasoning to positions that need a bit of an upgrade? I just don't get it. How hard is it to pick up a free agent linebacker. You might not get a superstar, but if you can't find someone better than Roger Knight or Derrick Rogers or Orlando Ruff then you aren't trying very hard.

The same thing happened a couple of years ago with the cornerbacks. Is this just tunnel vision? Is this stubbornness to show that you found a diamond in the rough? (Ruff)

On the other hand, I'm glad to hear that they are always looking to upgrade the team.
