More likely he wasn't as effective in pass blocking and remained a work in progress not worthy of the 53 man roster.
Sproles was smaller and was definitely not known for blocking prowess. Don't ever recall it being a problem. Enough film on Scott to know what they were getting. If they wanted a better blocker should have drafted one.

I am of course speculating something else was wrong. Sure he is a nice guy but never really know what goes on in an organization. Amari Cooper is a really nice guy, Gruden said he was their guy. Bunch of dud games with no looks then bam. Goes to another team and has success.

Yes. I was speculating myself. However, I am sure there had to have been a logical reason why he was never moved to the active roster. If he didn't have some promise they would have replaced him themselves before now, wouldn't you think?
